Under the auspices of the China Christian Council, CP holds Pastoral Training Seminars (PTS) in theological schools now open in China. Recruiting trainers from around the world, CP facilitates at least four PTS annually. CP conducts two PTS back-to-back so as to save on travel expenses; thus only two trips are made to China each year for this purpose.

Teaching Teams
Each PTS requires a tremendous amount of time, energy, and resources. Foreign teachers must be academically credentialed and their transcripts/resumes scrutinized by CP and the China Christian Council before they can be accepted as part of a teaching team. Those who are selected as a team member must be versatile and proficient in several subject areas of the curriculum and have a very flexible attitude.

Curriculum
Curriculum continues to be changed and updated to meet the particular ministry needs in China. Besides training in basic Bible doctrine, the core curriculum places importance on the Bible in their daily lives. Sermon preparation emphasizes evangelism. Above all, the development of a personal relationship with the Lord is stressed.  With the help of several international pastors and para-church leaders, CP has developed the following four training courses; Evangelism, Pastoral Care, Discipleship and Christian Leadership.  Each course comes with a workbook available in both Chinese and English which are given to students at the time of the Pastoral Training Seminar. After considering feedback from our hosts in China, other training courses were added to the curriculum to better meet the needs of the churches in China. Pastors are eager to serve their churches in better ways. Topics related to pastoral care, Biblical leadership and discipleship were therefore added.  CP is currently working on a Marriage and Family Counseling Course.
