"If you're not on fire for something you won't be able to ignite anyone else." - Joachim Löw, Coach of German National Soccer Team
As I read this quote I thought, “how true.” How do you motivate others if you are not motivated yourself? How do you pass on a value that you don’t first cherish yourself? Passion: it’s a strong drive that comes from within. It motivates to action; it pushes you forward when you feel like stopping.
As you read this letter I am currently traveling in Germany where I am visiting churches and partners to share about God’s work in China. It’s been such a joy, on this particular trip, to meet younger pastors who are making a significant difference for God’s kingdom in my birth country. These young leaders have a passion for God and such a strong desire to make Him known in their country that they are trying new methods to reach the lost. During my conversations over the last few weeks it has become very apparent that God is also at work here. God is drawing people to Himself also here in Germany and these young leaders have the privilege to participate in His work in their country. They have a passion for God and as a result they are igniting others to also burn for Him.
How exciting!
It’s happening in China; it’s happening in Germany; it’s happening in America…it’s happening around the world. How awesome and majestic is our King of kings and Lord of lords. The miracle is that this same God invites you and me to be a part of His work. Thanks for your partnership with Him and with us.
This is a prayer I prayed to God today; may this also become your prayer: “Lord, help me to burn for you so that others will be ignited. Help me to reflect your love so that others will be drawn to you. For your kingdom and for your glory.”
