This project provides student scholarships and stipends for alumni serving as pastors, and helps meet specific material needs of the school. (China Partner agrees with the principle of self-support, one of the three-self principles of the China Christian Council, and therefore chooses not to support anyone in China with one hundred percent.)

China Partner realizes that the need for additional theological training throughout China is of utmost importance if the Chinese church is to continue to grow strong and healthy.  Since CP is a small organization with limited resources, we concentrate on serving the church in Jiangxi Province, where the Burklin family has had a long history of ministry.  CP serves and helps in two different ways:

1)  Students’ Subsidy - $800 per month; $9,600 annually
The Jiangxi Bible School was founded in 1992, using the facilities of a church building in Nanchang.  Today, it has a new facility which can house up to 160 students in the outskirts of Nanchang.  However, most of the students who are enrolled at the Jiangxi Bible School come from very poor rural areas of Jiangxi Province.  There are many more students who have applied to attend the Bible school but cannot join due to lack of funds.  Most of them cannot afford the tuition costs.  China Partner wants to help these needy students receive the necessary theological training which will enable them to be better equipped for ministry.  It costs $32 per month for one student to attend Jiangxi Bible School.  China Partner wants to support 50 students with $16 per month which is half of their total need. 

2)  Pastor’s Subsidy - $960 per month; $11,520 annually
After graduation these students are sent into poor rural areas to serve the exploding churches.  These “grass root” pastors are ministering even though they cannot take care of their own basic necessities.  As a result some of them take other full-time jobs to make a living while serving part-time to serve the ever expanding congregations.  One pastor needs an average of only $92 per month to minister full-time in the rural areas of Jiangxi Province.  China Partner wants to support 20 grass root pastors with $48 per month which is half of their total need.
