 Bible School and Church Construction - Even though this is not a major emphasis, China Partner helps a few, carefully selected, churches and Bible schools in their quest to build better and larger facilities which enables for more ministry. For example, the Jiangxi Bible School in Nanchang has received special economic help from China Partner to help construct their new Bible school campus. In addition, CP gives assistance in the form of subsidies to its students and former graduates who are now serving as pastors in the rural areas. Jiangxi Bible School Building Project China Partner assisted with fund raising to assist the Jiangxi Bible School in building their new facility to accommodate the growth of the school. This new facility was dedicated in October 2003 and houses classrooms, dormitories, a library, cafeteria, and offices. This is one of the poorest areas in China and the school often attracts the poorest of the poor. The school was established in 1992 and used a local church building to host its 30 students who were attending at that time. In 1998, they leased an old, former factory with several buildings on the outskirts of the city, and remodeled it to meet their immediate need for instructional space and student housing. China Partner made a financial commitment of 1 million RMB ($121,951 USD) to go toward the total of 5 million RMB. This new building has enabled the Bible school to double enrollment, thereby doubling the number of trained Christians who are prepared and equipped for the work of the ministry. China Partner has a close working relationship with the Jiangxi Christian Council and the Jiangxi Bible School. This allowed for good coordination of a payment plan over the length of the construction process. In October of 2004, Jiangxi Bible School dedicated their new chapel, which boasts a 1,000 seat auditorium, which is also being used on the weekends for regular church services. |
