China Conferences - One of the core values for China Partner is to help educate Christians outside of mainland China on how they can get more involved in God’s work in China. This is accomplished by putting on regular China Symposiums and Forums. China Partner works closely together with a Christian Leadership Exchange located in Arcadia, CA who regularly sponsors China Symposiums inviting key Christian leaders from the churches in China to come to the United States once a year and mingle with and get to know Christian leaders from the United States and Canada.
EXECUTIVE FORUM ON THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION IN MAINLAND CHINA
Fuller Theological Seminary in cooperation with CLE and China Partner will host an Executive Forum on theological education in mainland China. The main purpose of this conference is for Chinese Christian leaders who serve as pastors and principals of theological schools in China to come to Pasadena to share with their Western counterparts the main needs for theological education in China and how cooperation and partnerships can be established between east and west. The Christian community in China and even the State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA) expresses a strong desire to strengthen the theological education in China. There remains a dire need for the theological education to be expanded throughout China. Currently there are only 18 theological schools that officially operate in China. China Partner was told several years ago that on the average there is only one ordained pastor for every 10,000 Christians. More pastors and Christian leaders need to be trained, and this executive forum will serve as a catalyst to find out how theological schools in North America can possibly help serve the Church in China with this tremendous need. The other purpose of this conference will be for seminary presidents and deans from North America to learn from the Chinese counterparts on matters of theological education and their most pressing current needs. The dates for this executive forum have not been set. More specific information with be posted latter.
