A cross.  A church building.  A Christian school.  When you see them what do they bring to mind?  Perhaps Christ and His death and resurrection as Savior of the world.  Perhaps a place of worship, a place to meet God, the presence of God’s people in a given neighborhood.  Perhaps individuals who will share God’s message with the lost and lead the God’s people into the future.
 
While for many westerners the symbolism these things may have faded, in China believers value greatly the presence of each and what each represent.  The Church in China see church and Christian school buildings as a physical demonstration of the Church in their land, with a cross at the top of each boldly proclaiming Christ’s presence in that location.  While thousands of Chinese believers worship in home settings, many of them long for church buildings to worship in – places wholly set apart for coming into the presence of our holy God.  They long for schools, retirement homes, etc. where the Word of God is taught and the love of Christ is demonstrated.  Unfortunately, the need for such places far out ways their existence.  Are you interested in meeting the need by building new training locations and churches with the Chinese through partnership and financial assistance?
 
Working closely with Chinese church leadership, China Partner strives to assist where there is the greatest need for new training locations and churches.  Generally this is done not through the pursuit of a project by China Partner, but by the Chinese presenting a need.  Throughout this ministry’s history Chinese pastors have presented building projects which will place God’s people in strategic areas of expected growth and development for strategic ministry purposes.  On a case by case basis, the staff and board prayerfully consider each presentation and how it fits with the mission of serving the Church in China as they fulfill the Great Commission.  With some projects China Partner will raise funding amongst partners to assist with the building (never providing the full amount – providing a hand up, rather than a handout) as Chinese believers in that location also raise funds.  With other projects, China Partner strives to help connect the Chinese Church directly with organizations (ex: International Cooperation Ministries), churches, and/or individuals who can partner in this way rather than acting as a middle-man.
